Ramada Inn to host May 14 meeting.

Offshore drilling attempt round two, or is that three or maybe even four, is moving forward at this time. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has scheduled May 14 as an Outer Banks hearing date. Neel Keller writing for the Outer Banks Sentinel gives the details.

“The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is currently expected to hold an open house meeting regarding the proposed 2019-’24 National Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program on May 14 at the Ramada Plaza in Kill Devil Hills.”

      That information was shared at the Dare Board of Commissioners meeting on Feb. 19 by Commissioner Rob Ross, who said he had learned of the scheduled meeting from Michael Flynn, a coastal advocate at the North Carolina Coastal Federation.”
