cajun occasion = sanctuary vineyards

Celebrate Mardi Gras early this year!

It’s Cajun. It’s an Occasion. It’s the Cajun Occasion coming Saturday, March 2 at Sanctuary Vineyards. Think of it as Mardi Gras…only  a little bit early.

All of the right elements will be there. Music will be provided by “Just Playing Dixieland.” That’s a local band and they have perfected that New Orleans sound. They’re a lot of fun and they do a really good job.

The food is pure Louisiana cuisine, courtesy of Dan Lewis at Coastal Provisions in Southern Shores. Jambalaya and cornbread…it doesn’t get much more Mississippi Delta than that.

And then there are the barrel tastings.

Sanctuary Vineyards wines have been getting better and better and we’re really curious to see what’s coming next…and part of the Cajun Occassion is a barrel tasting of upcoming releases. That should really be a blast.

This is an afternoon event from 2:00-5:00 p.m. The plan is party like it’s Fat Tuesday in the afternoon and still have plenty of time to enjoy the evening.

Located next to the Cotton Gin in Jarvisburg, Sanctuary Vineyards is a quick 15 minute ride north of the Wright Memorial Bridge.

Owner/Manager John Wright, likes to keep things interesting with events and live music. When the weather warms up a bit, Acoustic Thursdays will become a regular part of the event calendar with performances on the north lawn of the Cotton Gin.

Even in the off-season, there are still reasons to check out what’s happening at the Vineyard. Up next, its Mercy Creek and their folk rock with attitude.

Sanctuary Vineyard events are regularly sold out, so be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible. Click here for more information.
