pok’s art asian fusion kitchen opens in kitty hawk

Chef Pok has built a very well-derserved reputation for innovative dishes and excellent preparation at the Outer Banks Brewing Station. Now, working with his brother and mother, he is going back to his family heritage–his family opened the Thai Room in Kill Devil Hills almost 30 years ago. This article by Kip Tabb of the North Beach Sun tells the story of the new family business that just opened its doors, Pok’s Art Asian Fusion.

“When Pok’s Art opened its doors last Monday, the plan called for a soft opening. But word spread quickly that Chef Pok’s new restaurant was open and the line formed almost immediately.

“The first day I just wanted to take it easy and just get used to it,” Art Maliyam, Pok’s brother and a partner in the business says. “We got slammed on the first day.”
