The Lost Colony’s Waterside Concert Series has put together some of the most exciting talents around for their Sunday performances. The latest announcement that country and bluegrass music legend Marty Stuart will be coming August 17 is the latest news about some of the legends of music that will be performing on Roanoke Island.

“The Lost Colony is pleased to announce the closing event in the PNC Presents: Live At The Waterside Concert Series:  Marty Stuart,performing at the Waterside Theatre on Aug. 17 at 8PM.   Marty Stuart is a five time GRAMMY-winning platinum recording artist. He is a Grand Ole Opry star, country music archivist, Southern culture historian, photographer, musician, songwriter, TV show host, charismatic force of nature; and country music fan.

Since starting out singing gospel as a child, Stuart, now 54, has spent over four decades celebrating American Roots Music with a missionary’s zeal. His teenage years on tour with bluegrass legend Lester Flatt in the ’70s were followed by six years in Johnny Cash’s band during the ’80s and a chart-topping tenure as a solo artist in the ’90s.”
