“The Lost Colony is excited to bring Jars Of Clay, a Christian rock band from Nashville, to the Waterside Theatre on August 3 at 8PM as the third event in the 2014 concert series. The band’s name is derived from a bible verse translation. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1995. “Jars of Clay” has since reached multi-platinum certification according to the RIAA. The single “Flood” peaked at #37 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #12 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart, and was the band’s biggest secular radio hit.

1997 saw the release of the band’s sophomore album, “Much Afraid” which has since earned platinum certification by the RIAA. The album sold very well and went on to earn a Grammy award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album. In 1999, Jars of Clay released their third album, “If I Left The Zoo.” This album was their second in a row to earn a Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album.”

***UPDATE 8/1/14: Due to the high chance of thunderstorms forecast for Sunday night, the Jars of Clay concert will be moving to the Sound Stage Theatre, an indoor space on the grounds of the Waterside Theatre. This is an extremely intimate setting and as a result there are few tickets still available for sale. Standing room may be offered. Ticket holders have been automatically upgraded to the new venue. The band is very excited to be performing in such an intimate venue and ticket holders will be privy to one of the most unique and personal concert experiences Jars Of Clay has done in over a decade.***
