Extending 1000 feet  into the Atlantic Ocean,  Jennette’s Pier is the perfect place to learn about the history and environment of the Outer Banks. With their new interactive displays, history comes alive at the touch of a screen that provides the latest data on the USS Monitor, a Civil War era ironclad resting on the seabed off Hatteras. For the scientific minded there is a full array of information on energy use, the weather and the ocean.

“Immerse yourself in two new touch-screen exhibits at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head. Both offer real-time information on wind, weather and much more.

Located in the pier house, the first interactive exhibit, a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) kiosk, shares information and photographs about the Monitor National Marine Sanctuary and its cultural and natural marine resources, as well as displays area weather and ocean conditions.”
