trio = wine + beer + cheese + music + more

TRiO really does offer something for everyone. There are good reasons why Trio in Kitty Hawk has become a local favorite: an amazing wine and beer selection, fantastic cheese plates and sandwiches, exotic cheese from around the world and great local talent performing live. As it says in this piece written for the Outer Banks Voice as part of series with the Outer Banks Restaurant Association, it is the place to be on the Outer Banks. “TRiO in Kitty Hawk was born of a love for all things wine, beer and cheese-related and has grown into...

kelly’s st. pat’s parade = 28 years of OBX fun

Wild & whacky-Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Day parade is aways worth the trip! Sunday is looking cold and blustery, so bundle up, bring your hand warmers and warm beverages, but don’t miss the 28th Annual Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. There’s a lot of history behind the OBX’s favorite parade, and Russ Lay does a great job of chronicling all the fun in this great piece on the Outer Banks Voice. “When Mike Kelly announced last year that Kelly’s Outer Banks Restaurant and Tavern was entertaining a...

obx is OPEN (and it’s not even summer!)

There’s much to do on the Outer Banks all year round. Some may think that late winter and early spring would be sort of the doldrums of the Outer Banks seasons. But they really aren’t!  This year we’ve had some amazing weather to chase the mid-winter blues, but the days are still short and the nights chilly. Luckily, even though it’s the tail end of winter, there is still a lot to do on the Outer Banks, and a lot of it has to do with good food and live music! One of our favorite year ‘round places is Ocean Boulevard. Live music on...
