On May 31, 2015, Hype Promotions is bringing a new event to the Outer Banks in partnership with the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau which will benefit the Dare County Arts Council. OBX Brewfest seeks to inspire and showcase the area’s culinary, performing, and visual arts through a craft beer culture event boasting over 80 tasty libations from around the United States.

The festival will be held at the Outer Banks Event Site in Nags Head, NC, and will feature everything from homebrew demonstrations and beer-centric workshops hosted by industry professionals, to live music. Producers will also be presenting their own “Games for Grown Folks” Field Day-style game zone which will be chock full of activities including life-sized Jenga, keg bowling, human foosball, life-size Connect Four and more. Non-drinkers can also enjoy samples throughout the day at the festival’s Craft Soda Garden, which will house over twenty handcrafted sodas. Several local restaurants will have food available for purchase throughout the event; some of whose culinary teams will also be presenting segments such as “Cooking with Beer,” “Homebrew 101,” “Beer & Cheese,” “Repurposed Beer Art,” “Design Your Own Beer Garden,” “Farm to Glass: Where Does Your Beer Comes From,” and more. A full schedule including panelist lineup will be available as the event nears.

Patrons must be 21 and older – no exceptions – so folks will have to leave the kiddos at home. However, the Brewfest team has arranged some great local camps for various age groups to keep them busy while festivalgoers enjoy themselves, sans children. More information will be posted on the website in the coming weeks.

Tickets go on sale November 18th at 10am and include unlimited samplings and a commemorative tasting glass. They may be purchased through the event’s Facebook page or via their website. The first 250 tickets will be sold at a discounted price of just $25 (yes, you read that right). Once the first batch sells out, the remaining presale tickets will be sold at $40. Tickets will be available at the gate on the day of the festival for $50 in the event does not sell out in advance.

Those looking to lend a hand may register through the Outer Banks Volunteer Network. Volunteers will receive an event t-shirt as well as the opportunity to enjoy the event to the fullest whichever shift they are not working…samples included.
